Thandava Reservoir Project constructed across the Thandava River , in Nathavaram Mandal of Anakapalli District.

The Reservoir made construction in the period 1965-1975. It was completed in the year,1975

It was named as ri Raja Sagi Suryanarayana Raju Thandava Reservoir Project and it provides Irrigation facilities to an ayacut of 51465 Acres. Out of which 32689 Acres covered in 3 Mandals viz. Nathavaram, Narsipatnam & Kotauratla in Anakapalli District and 18776 Acres in 3 Mandals viz, Kotananduru, Tuni & Rowthulapudi Mandals of East Godavari Districts.

It is situated at a distance of 28 Km from Narsipatnam Municipality and 78 Kms from Anakapalli District Headquarters.

It has the capacity of Gross storage of water is 4.96 TMC and FRL is 380 Ft and MDDL is 355 Ft.

The Total length of Common Canal is 2.21 KM long and further extended up to 19.775 Km is called as LMC having 5 Nos of Majors namely Nathavaram Major, Indugupalli Major, BH Kota Major, Balighattam Major and Kotauratla Major. RMC takes off at 0.765 Km of common canal having a total length of 15.4 Km. RMC is having 2 Major Distributaries namely Kotananduru Major & Tail End Branch Canal. The Total length of Main Canals & Major Distributaries is about 120 km.LMC is having 31 gated outlets of which 4 nos feed major distributaies,7 nos feed minors & rest 20 nos feed direct pipes. RMC is having 29 gated outlets out of which 2 nos feed major distributaries, 10 nos feed minors & rest 17 nos feed direct pipes.203 Kms.
